Major Government Integrator: Staff Augmentation for VoIP Implementation
Challenge
Working with a major government integrator, Starpoint provides a wide variety of consultants for a $300 million Voice over IP (VoIP) implementation, the world’s largest enterprise VoIP network deployments in U.S. government history.
A 10-year plan was designed to expand and improve services, with a keen eye towards efficiency and cost savings. With an aggressive schedule in place that called for replacing existing telephone systems in thousands of field offices, and providing network integration operation, maintenance, user support and training, this major government integrator recognized the importance of finding the right partner to source its consultants.
Solution
As a firm with a practice specifically focused on telecommunications, network and infrastructure, Starpoint was selected as an integral partner from the very beginning of this project. Starpoint immediately created a pool of highly qualified, prescreened consultants with extensive experience in VoIP implementations. Starpoint has provided a wide variety of consultants including engineers, designers, installers, trainers, and programmers with expertise in Automated Call Distribution (ACD), Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and VoIP Engineering.
Led by Starpoint’s Virginia office with assistance from its 11 offices nationwide— many in areas near the project’s worksites—Starpoint has sourced consultants where there is an immediate need, and created a pool of back-ups to ensure that no time is lost on the project due to unexpected turnover, etc. Attention to detail and client satisfaction has placed Starpoint in a position to continue providing quality consultants for the duration of this multi-year project.
