Global Financial Institution: Risk Management Systems Migration & SOA-based Solution

Challenge

One of the largest clients for this global financial institution is a leading provider of home mortgages. Working with this client required the financial institution to migrate its current Oracle-based implementation to a new upgraded implementation. The financial institution selected Starpoint to perform the conversion and migration.

Solution

Starpoint performed an extensive analysis and recommended a migration and upgrade process. Starpoint accomplished the work in 3 months and passed acceptance testing in its initial pass. As part of this migration, Starpoint uncovered and corrected numerous pre-existing application errors and suggested corrective actions to the bank for its base product.

Also, for financial institution’s Prime Brokerage group, Starpoint was engaged by the Senior Managing Director to work with the firm’s corporate Enterprise Architecture group to design, identify a platform, prototype and implement a new Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based solution.

This solution was the new backbone to connect more efficiently and expose new and legacy services both to internal organizations and to its client-based of more than 4,000 hedge fund clients. Starpoint successfully completed the project and transferred it to the firm’s internal development teams to implement fully on an enterprise scale.
