 Associate Director Position: 

The insurance group is looking for a quantitative analyst at Associate Director level to report in to the Model Manager for Insurance and serve as the Backup Model Officer. The position will involve work on model review, enhancement and development projects and would suit a self-motivated person who enjoys working on a variety of projects. An organized approach and rigorous attention to detail are necessary. Candidate should have excellent quantitative skills with some financial knowledge.   

Key responsibilities will include:
•            Assisting in the enhancement and day-to-day management of the Insurance Group’s models, tools, databases and associated documentation
•            Analyzing large and complex data sets, including a demonstrated thorough aptitude for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses
•            Helping in the regular review / validation process for all models, tools, databases and associated documentation 
•            Assessing and mitigating operational risks linked to models, tools and databases
•            Building a positive cooperative relationship with the Analytical Users by providing training, trouble-shooting and the correct use of the models and tools
• Ensuring that disclosure, reporting and documentation comply with COMPANY’s policies, procedures and meet regulatory requirements

Qualifications and experience:

 

The role would suit a person who is proactive seeking guidance, clarification and feedback. An understanding of the importance of controls, processes and documentation in a regulated environment is paramount. The successful candidate will have:
•            Degree in quantitative disciplines such as Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems
•            Preference for 1 or 2 years of demonstrated experience or preparing or reviewing models, spreadsheets and databases
•            Solid corporate accounting and financial modelling experience
•            Strong programming skills should include Excel, Access, VBA and R programming (or similar)
•            Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage and prioritize workload
•            Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with a wide range of constituents and build good working relationships
