Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a Technical Lead for a full time position in their New York City (Midtown) office.

The team you will lead is a global team in 3 different locations, and you'll be liaising with Management, Architects and BA's in ths USA, UK and Poland, leading and providing guidance to the teams in the design and development of a Warehouse Lending application.  The role is to build out and maintain a custom web applications for our client's Warehouse Lending business, which presents mission-critical data rapidly and intuitively to bankers, allowing them to manage funding of loans to Mortgage Banks against the collateral.

The right candidate for this role will have expert knowledge of Java and Javascript and keeps up-to-date with the coming frameworks, tools and techniques. We're looking for a hands-on Java / Tomcat / Oracle stack technical architect or a well-rounded senior developer that can grow into an architect. 

 

Responsibilities will include: 

– Developing and maintaining the front-end and service-layer of a large-scale internet platform, in collaboration with the business, experienced developers, and quality assurance (QA) professionals
– Guiding and sharing knowledge with the development community

– Helping to grow and lead teams across different geographic locations
– Taking pride in the quality of delivered software products and services 



Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Must have financial services experience, preferably in the asset management industry
  • Fluent in the Java stack, ability to lead senior members on the team
  • Expertise with Java multithreading libraries and techniques, modern development tools such as JIRA, Maven, Git, TeamCity, Nexus, etc., and web services (RESTful and SOAP)
  • Working knowledge of Javascript unit testing approach, frameworks and code quality toolds (e.g. Jasmine, Siesta, QUnity, Mocha, Sonar, Selenium, PhantomJS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of standard web technologies including HTML, CSS, AJAX, XML, XSLT, REST, JSP, JSON
  • Experience with highly scaling messaging systems
  • Enthusiastic, client-focused and self-motivated
