DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze healthcare authorization and claims data to assess trends, evaluate potential operational and clinical opportunities, measure ongoing performance vs. target, identify additional expansion opportunities, etc.
  • Design and implement reporting systems, analytical processes and tools to support operational and clinical performance, key benchmarks as well as all client-based utilization and cost performance results.
  • Application of relevant project management tools/SDLC experience as required.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity and quality throughout the department’s data collection-to reporting pipeline, as well as implementation of new methodology and processes.
  • Support ad hoc analytic requests, providing accurate and timely data, analysis and insight for interpretations; Identify opportunities to improve and enhance analyses and information provided to customers.
  • Implement and support new technologies and special projects to enhance the analytical/reporting performance of the department and the Company as a whole in the service of its clients.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5-7 years work experience in a healthcare insurance related field.
  • Hands-on experience with handling and analyzing large data sets (over 1 million records) including ETL, preferably with healthcare claims and other related healthcare data.
  • Proven analytical  skills  particularly  with  comprehensive,  multi-level  drill-down   assessment     of   key  utilization and financial performance measures by product, procedure and business dimensions.
  • Demonstrated ability with clinical analysis within a managed care environment  a  plus, (e.g., diagnostic case-mix, episode of care grouping and analysis, provider profiling and/or site-of-service analyses, etc.).
  • Exceptional computing   skills  a   must,  particularly   with  relational   database  programming,  including   SQL Server,   MS   Access   etc. Well   informed   with   healthcare   industry   benchmarks   for   utilization   and   cost  drivers across various demographics and relevant experience in medical economics/informatics areas  a  plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and troubleshooting ability with high level of accuracy.
  • Team player, resourceful and strong facilitator.
  • Strong     verbal    and    written    communications        skills,  with genuine       sense    of  personal     initiative  and accountability.
  • MS Office Suite/Tools: MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, Tableau.
  • Databases (RDBMS): MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle.
  • He/she must have prior healthcare data analysis and full SDLC experience.

EDUCATION:

A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, finance, technical or health care analytics related discipline is required.  Masters degree a plus.
